Some of you might have noticed a new box in the Dashboard of your projects. The new box is a Facebook box. Since two weeks we are now monitoring Facebook. Fan pages, groups and public status updates are all available. The Impfactor will of course help you sort out which of the information that has created most engagement in Facebook. We have applied the Beta label to the Facebook functionality until we are completely happy with the trimming of the Impfactor and the data quality. Your feedback on the new functionality is as always appreciated. |

Since a couple of weeks we have made more and more features available through our API. We will add functions in the API continuously. From the very start we have worked towards that Silverbakk should be completely transparent when it comes to the information Silverbakk retrieves for it's customers. All data should always be available where and when needed and in a format easy to read for both computer or human. Earlier we have released the RSS functionality that gives the user the potential of transporting, integrating and publish the Silverbakk information where most needed. Also Excel-friendly CSV format is available for download. Both RSS and CSV are easy to filter and categorize prior to export/download, even moderation in the Silverbakk user interface is available. Now with the API we have even further made it possible to use Silverbakk in the way that the most meet your requirements. We have had the API available for our Gold customers for a while, but starting today we will make it available for all customers. To get access please contact us and we will make it available for you. |

Silverbakk is the best tool to monitor a global keyword on one, two or several languages. Silverbakk have had focus on language selection from the start. Blogs have been flawless from the start and now we have made a major upgrade to the language classification for microblogs. Now we do not only have the best tool for classification of language on blogs, but also on microblogs. On of our biggest challenges when we decided to focus on language classification was to solve the problem with classification of microblogs. Microblogs often consider of a strange username, three abbreviations and a bit.ly link. We have been working hard on this since day one and since last monday (the 27th of April 2010) a new classification solution for microblogs have been implemented. We have all ready heard from several customers with cheers and appreciation for this update. Language classification is one of the features that really make Silverbakk stand out in the jungle of social media monitoring tools out there. And we are very comfortable that we will continue to lead the market in regards to provide a social media monitoring tool with the best language classification available. |

Many, if not all companies of today have social media on the radar. It often starts in the communications or marketing departments with an interest in what is said about the company brand or some of the company products or a campaigns. That is great and the natural first step on the road to a more open and trust worthy conversation between companies and their customers, partners, fans or others. After the listening phase most companies comes to the conclusion that the natural next step is to participate in the conversation. They have found the hidden gem of a more close interaction with the people that the company have spent a lot of effort reaching out to through the years and know they are right in front of them…on the internet….and they want to communicate. The needles eye Traditionally most of the external communication and marketing has been handled by the marketing and communications departments. That is also mostly the case with traditionally media monitoring. Since most of the monitoring and analysis of social activity still will be done by these departments it puts them in an interesting situation that needs attention. People want to communicate with you, but do you want to answer? Information is published on blogs, Facebook and Twitter and now people are standing in line to ask you questions, want help or simple just reaching out. This is tricky since it can be many different topics not only as earlier when most where media articles or similar. Suddenly it can be: - Sales leads
- Customer support topics
- Business Development subjects
- …and many other topics
Since these channels build on trust and relationship it is key these new communication channels are integrated in the ordinary business processes. Each business goal can then use the communication channel best suited to meet each business goal. Use the right channel for the right purpose. |
